iMiss iCarly!

For the past three days since my Christmas break started, I've practically been doing nothing but re-watching episodes of iCarly! I've actually been planning to watch iCarly for a pretty long time already, ever since December started. I just love reliving my childhood, and I miss the thought of being a careless seven year old, going home to turn on the TV and laugh at the silliness of Carly, Sam, Freddie, and Spencer.

The first thing I did this morning was watch iCarly (obvsly) :iGoodbye. I never got to watch that episode before, since me and my family were super busy during that time because we were moving to a new house, and so it was the first time that I laid my eyes on it.

I'm not very emotional when it comes to TV or movies, but I found myself swimming in a river of tears this morning due to iGoodbye -- iCarly's very last episode. iCarly has just been my childhood, and seeing it all end so sadly with Carly living with her dad made me feel as though it symbolized the end of my good old days as a kid. I think that the part that made me tear up the most was when Carly's dad announced that Carly could live with him. It just pulled me down to pure sadness when Sam said Carly should go for it, and if she'd been in her place she'd totally say yes. The first ever iCarly episode, iPilot, ends with a hat party to celebrate the success of their very first web show. And my heart broke to billions of pieces when they ALSO had a hat party in the very last episode. They all had a group hug, and the very last line to bring a knot to the whole series was Freddie saying "And, we're clear."

THESE HUMANS ARE JUST CRUSHING AN INNOCENT LITTLE GIRL'S HEART!

Seriously, I just wish that Dan Schneider would have ended it with no such drama at all. Just a normal natural episode like any other regular day, or probably he could have erased all the emphasis given to the fact that truly, it was the end. (ehem, ehem, SAYING THAT ICARLY IS SIMPLY TAKING A BREAK JUST MAKES THE PAIN FEEL SO MUCH WORSE, because duh, IT AIN'T!) Or maybe, they could have given any other non poisoning ending to the series by killing Carly or Sam and just getting it over with! (Okay, I was joking, but still, I FEEL SO SAD FOR WHAT'S HAPPENED!) I know that this premiered long ago in 2012, but I just cannot get over this, and I'm afraid that I never will.

Without a doubt, iCarly occupied such a big space in my heart, and it always will. It's been a part of my life, and has made me laugh on the darkest of days. It even feels as though I've been there from the very start all along. I just want to say that iLOVE iCarly, and I'll never ever forget about it. I'm sad that it's ended, but I'm thankful for what it's been.

Call of the Future

Here we go again, the same old routine, same old cliche, the never ending saying. I'm sure this bores everyone, since it's already boring me, but nonetheless, I'm saying it again, even if my fingers hurt of typing it over and over again. Please, vote wisely.

Surely, Filipinos are aware of the Presidential Candidates. From the tiny brown elf, the smarty pants, the half american, to the criminal killer, and the yellow believer of straight paths, only one is to be crowned.

Some people think that just because a candidate gives away free shirts or goodies means that he or she is honarable of being a leader. Some think that killing criminals is the answer to all our problems. Some think that just because the candidate is from his province means that the candidate is a worthy leader. Some even think that not voting at all will be the solution.

But none of these is the what will be for the better, because what we want is a bright future. No one will probably listen, but I'm telling you that if you want a bright tomorrow, if you want to kill your worries with hunger and poverty, robberies and corruption, the answer is you. Yes, you. And how will that happen? By you voting wisely.

With technology at its best, we are provided thousands of sources to choose correctly. Debates, interviews, and the internet is beneath our fingertips, let us not put it to waste. And how? By using these for good, since with it, you'll be able to know who truly is worthy of becoming president. If someone knocks at your door and gives you free food, you'd like her a lot, wouldn't you? But that doesn't mean that you'd tell her your deep dark secrets, that you'd let her live with you, right? And that's practically how the elections are. You have to know the candidates. To live with them, to go to work with them, to befriend them.

If you're still confused, remember the merciless ways of Martial law. Remember how much blood Ferdinand Marcos produced, remember our bravery in the EDSA Revolution. Remember Dr. Jose Rizal's way of words, and how big of a help it was. Remember how sweet the taste of freedom from the Japanese was. Remember your family. Think of your children, think of their future. I leave you this question, reader, will killers, liers, robbers, or corrupt leaders be the answer?

By the time the tippiest tip of the pencil shades the circle, it'll all be too late. By the time the cool wet ink is on your thumb, it'll be the end. Every single vote counts, no matter how small it may seem. Every single one of them. The future is calling for you, and it wants to grow up to be a bright one.

Nothing Impossible

The world isn't really cruel. It kind of is, but the world is also beautiful, it is wonderful, and it has thousands of things to be discovered. The world isn't full of villains, or corrupt country leaders. What is the truth? The world is unfair. Unfair. Unfair. Unfair.

Take a rich man and a poor man. The rich man has a grand penthouse in the middle of the city, millions of food in the refrigerator, and let's say he even has the best family ever, and more money than the human population of the whole planet Earth. But the poor man doesn't have anything, anything at all, he eats his first and only meal alone in a tiny hut, then he goes out to do his farming as Mr. Sun continously sweats his back. The world is cruel to the poor man, but obviously, the world isn't as cruel to the rich man compared to the poor man. From my observations, eight out of ten people say that the world is cruel -- which is very different from unfair.

I know that someday the world will change, the world will be nothing like anyone has ever imagined. No more robberies, civil wars, or world poverty. People can change, time can pass, and I may not even be alive, but I know that someday it will happen, like something that looks impossible, but eventually happened. Probably like when someone you love dies, and you still feel their love, you still know that you'll see them again, even if you know that it's kind of impossible. I am holdig on to the fact that the world is capable of change, because with a few ingridients, anything is possible.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

This December 2015, Cinemas are giving the best Christmas gift evah to geeks all over the world. Know why? 'Cause Star Wars has returned!

Last December 17, 2015 me and my family went to Ayalala and watched Star Wars Episode VII, directed by J.J Abrams, produced by  Lucasfilm and Abrams' Bad Robot productions, and now distributed worldwide by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. According to my source, Star Wars The Force Awakens is set approximately 30 years after  Return of the Jedi in 1983.

Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) meet each other because of an orange and white droid, as you know, BB-8. And BB-8 is the one droid everyone's looking for. . . because he has the map to find long lost Luke Skywalker. Kylo Ren, the new Sith Lord addicted to Darth Vader, is determined to find that droid, and kill Rey.

Star Wars Episode VII is just grand, but I have to say that during late November and December, I've just seen hundreds of bandwagoners, especially Holly who didn't know a thing about Star Wars back then. But when a marathon showed up at Star Movies, she suddenly became a "Star Wars Fan".

So episode VII for me, is one of my fave movies of 2015. But I do have some stuff to say about it, so let me start with the not-so-good points.

1. When the Star Wars facebook page posted a photo of the new stormtroopers, I was just like "WUT?!". I have to say that this generation's stormtroopers are really awesome and cool, but in my opinion,  just prefer seeing the classic stormtroopers.
2. I'm quite confused, because I totally thought that Luke wouldn't be shown in this episode. The story is kind of all about Rey discovering her past, and I'm confused because Rey couldn't have found Luke that easily. I know that there are more episodes in the future, but I thought those episodes would be allotted for Rey facing lots of ups and downs in finding Luke, not finding him all easily. But on the other hand, I think that the future episodes could be all about adventures with Luke and Rey (Like Luke teaching Rey Jedi stuff, battling the dark side, blah blah blah).
3. I just want to suggest, that maybe the other actors like Padme, Anakin, Obi-Wan and the other characters could be casted in some way, like they'd show their force ghost, or a flashback perhaps.

And now for the good points . . .

1. Making Kylo Ren reveal his face is just so, so good. At first I was so shocked because he wouldn't be terrifying at all, but I realized that no one will ever be able to immitate Darth Vader, no matter what. This just symbolizes that even though Darth Vader may be dead, Kylo Ren will never be able to steal his place in the dark side.
2. I just want to a great thumbs up to Daisy Ridley, aka Rey, since I just adored her! She looked so beautiful and stunning, and I have to admit that in the movie she almost looked like Emma Watson. I was even surprised when she was british.
3. Despite the fact that after many years Star Wars just suddenly released its seventh episode, the signature, adventure, and vibe of your classic Star Wars is still there. Yoda may be gone, Vader may be dead, but all the lightsabers, "The force is with you" stuff, and adventure is all present, which just makes me love Star Wars even more.

When lights went out in the cinema, and the screen started showing a black background with stars, and then a series of words, with the classic music playing, and everyone being so loyal to it, even after lots of years, just makes me cringe and have goosebumps. Disney truly has invaded Star Wars, but still making the signature be present, which I love, love, love.

BTW, I have been a Star Wars fan since 2014.
